Mohamad Siarudin is a senior researcher in forest planning at the Research Center for Ecology and Ethnobiology, under the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) of Indonesia since March 2022. Previously, he was a researcher at the Agroforestry Research Center, under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, from 2004 to February 2022. He obtained his doctoral degree in forest management at Gadjah Mada University in 2023.
Throughout his career, he engages in research related to small-scale private forests and agroforestry, especially in the fields of planning and climate change. He has been a central board member of the Indonesian Agroforestry Society (MAFI) since 2012. He also participates in several research collaborations with external parties, i.e the World Agroforestry (ICRAF), the Peat Restoration Agency (BRG), the Research and Development Agency for West Java Province, and NGOs engaged in agroforestry for climate change mitigation.
