Component 1: Strengthen the enabling environment for leveraging environmental and social management systems (ESMS) for sustainable, inclusive and broad-scale transformations of small-scale producer-based commodity value-chains

The objective of Component 1 is to leverage environmental and social management systems and/or standards and frame them in such a way that they meet sustainability and strategic positioning in the global market. The expected outcome is supportive and operational policies and regulatory environments that will help the sustainable, inclusive and broad-scale transformation of smallholders through well-functioning national multi-stakeholder platforms.
